How to use the photo galleries

This presentation works with any browser. I recommend a screen resolution of 1024 x 768, but 800 x 600 will do as a minimum. Since the photos in the wallpaper gallery are 1600 x 1200, bigger is definitely better!

This is what a typical gallery page looks like. It shows a column of images to the left and a column of comments to the right. You can return to the home page at any time by clicking St Petersburg home at the bottom of the page. You can also click on the title banner at the top of any page to return to the home page.

If you are using a newer version of Microsoft Internet Explorer, the image will only be as large as your browser window.Click on the button button in the lower right corner to view the image full-size. If you want to print an image or save it as your desktop wallpaper, you should first enlarge it to full-size for the best resolution. To return to the photo gallery from a full-size image, press your browser's [BACK] button.

A general word about the pictures in this collection: I deliberately increased the contrast and color saturation of almost every photo in this presentation. This was especially necessary for shots taken in bad weather. Call it artistic license. My goal in doing this was to create an impression of my experience in Saint Petersburg, rather than merely to provide a photographic record of my visit. My success with this varies from one shot to the next, but I think I more or less got the result I was going for—Saint Petersburg is an extraordinarily colorful city, and I wanted that to come across.I hope you enjoy my pictures!
